Scorpio & RaceGen Take Timothy Friis Larsen From Sim Racing to the Real Car

RaceGen announce the signing of 17-year-old Norwegian sim racing talent Timothy Friis Larsen, marking the next stage of a development programme designed to take elite virtual racing talent into professional motorsport.

Timothy Friis Larsen joins Scorpio Motorsport after establishing himself as one of the leading open-wheel drivers on iRacing. Competing in the official iRacing Super Formula top split, where the strongest drivers compete based on iRating, Larsen has now secured three championship titles, alongside a series of outstanding individual performances against some of the world's leading sim racers and real-world racing drivers. His current profile combines elite open-wheel pace with a clear ambition to transition into professional motorsport.

The signing represents a significant step for the whole sim racing and motorsport community. RaceGen Driver Management, that operates in inseparable partnership with real-world racing team Scorpio Motorsport, was created to identify exceptional sim racing talent and provide structured career development, including coaching, career planning, team and series placement, sponsorship and media management, physical and mental preparation, and ongoing professional representation.

Larsen was personally identified and recruited by Ivan Taranov, who brings extensive experience from professional motorsport, having competed in Formula 2, Formula 3, GP3, Formula Renault, GT, prototype and touring car racing, as well as serving as a former member of the Force India Young Driver Academy.

As part of the agreement, Larsen has already secured a funded test day in a Scorpio Motorsport GB4 car in Donington Park, providing his first structured opportunity to experience a professional single-seater environment. The test is intended to be more than a one-off experience, but rather the first stage of a planned development programme with the longer-term objective of preparing Larsen for a full GB4 season with Scorpio Motorsport in 2027 and further progression through the ranks of open-wheel racing.

Larsen's results have already attracted considerable attention within the iRacing Formula community. His Super Formula performances are broadcasted by SimSpeed and supported and organized by Sim Racing Nation and other incredible members of the Super Formula Community. The top split has also featured in iRacing's official weekly broadcast schedule, giving the championship an audience well beyond its regular competitors.

The first milestone is already confirmed: GB4 test day. The longer-term target is clear: full season of GB4 2027 and further progress to higher ranks of motorsport.
