Hessen Champion Jason Käsmann Sets His Sights on the German GT7 Title

On January 11, the state of Hessen will be represented on the national sim racing stage as Jason Käsmann, the reigning Hessen Champion of the Deutsche GT7 Meisterschaft (D-GT7-M), competes in the prestigious Champion-of-Champions final against winners from all other German states.

The Deutsche GT7 Meisterschaft (D-GT7-M) is structured on a regional basis. Each German state (Bundesland) runs its own championship, open to drivers who were born in or reside in that state. After 12 championship races, one state champion is crowned. These champions then come together for a 13th and final race to determine the German GT7 Champion.

Jason Käsmann secured the Hessen title in the final regular round (Round 12), despite missing two races during the season. His campaign was defined by remarkable consistency, with multiple race wins, pole positions, and fastest laps.

“Consistency and preparation were the key factors,” Käsmann explains. “I tested tyre strategies, calculated race plans myself, and prepared specifically for one-hour races. If you truly want something, you have to work for it every single day.”

One of the most memorable moments of the season came in Race 9, the only race Jason did not win. After an early incident and a damaged car, he made a strategic pit stop and fought his way back through the field to finish second. The driver ahead of him at the finish line was none other than his own father.

“It was one of the most intense and emotional races of my life,” says Käsmann. “Hard racing, fair racing, and incredibly special. Moments like that are why I love motorsport.”

By winning the Hessen Championship, Jason earned the right to represent his region at the national final - a responsibility he takes seriously.

“Knowing that the entire state of Hessen is behind me gives me extra motivation. I’m not racing just for myself; I’m racing for the region.”

The final will be broadcast via the official league stream, with Jason also streaming his own onboard perspective live on Twitch, giving fans a direct and personal view of the race.

Jason’s long-term ambition is to progress from sim racing into real-world motorsport. A major step toward that goal has already been achieved through his inclusion in the Scorpio eSports program, which supports sim racing talents in their transition toward real racing opportunities. “Sim racing showed me that anything is possible if you are willing to put in the work,” Käsmann concludes. “This is only the beginning.”

On January 11, all eyes in Hessen will be on the national final - and on Jason Käsmann.
