Overview

Tristan Engelstad is one of the most promising young talents in sim racing, combining natural speed with a clear ambition to reach the highest levels of motorsport. Born in 2007, Tristan’s passion for racing began early, inspired by watching his father play titles like Gran Turismo 5. However, it wasn’t until 2022, at the age of 15, that he took his first real step into sim racing by purchasing his own wheel and committing fully to the craft.

Driven by countless hours of watching sim racers transition into real-world competition, Tristan quickly developed a strong desire to follow the same path. His dedication paid off rapidly, as he began competing at a high level and establishing himself as a consistent front-runner.

One of his standout achievements includes competing in the AMG Virtual Championship Division 1, where he faced some of the best sim racers in the world, including drivers from renowned teams such as BS+ Competition and Williams Racing. Across multiple championships, Tristan has demonstrated remarkable consistency, rarely finishing outside of podium positions.

While his esports results continue to impress, Tristan’s ambitions extend beyond the virtual world. His ultimate goal is to progress into real-life racing, with a particular focus on GT4 competition. He has already taken early steps in this direction through karting experiences, including testing both rental and professional karts, further strengthening his foundation as a driver.

On track, Tristan thrives in GT3 and GT4 machinery, favouring medium-speed circuits that reward precision and rhythm. Many of his preferred tracks are located in the United States, with Sebring, St. Petersburg, and Road America among his favourites.

Outside of racing, Tristan channels his creativity into illustration and photography, showcasing a different side of his personality. Inspired by figures like Jimmy Broadbent, his journey reflects both passion and determination; qualities that continue to drive him toward a future in professional motorsport.
