Overview

Charlie Devlin’s path into racing was shaped early by life at the circuit. Growing up around motorsport thanks to his father’s lifelong passion for cars and racing, Charlie spent most weekends at the track from a young age. That constant exposure to racing culture, combined with early karting experience, naturally led him toward sim racing as a way to stay connected to the sport and develop his skills further.

He began sim racing competitively in 2024, quickly showing strong adaptability and racecraft. Charlie’s ambitions in sim racing are clear but grounded in reality: to reach the highest level possible, whether that means progressing into professional GT-focused sim racing in the footsteps of drivers like Chris Lulham, or establishing himself as a full-time elite sim racer. He understands how rare those opportunities are, which only strengthens his commitment to improvement.

Charlie’s recent results underline that potential. In 2025, he claimed victory in both the Official JSCC E-Series and the Official Ginetta Juniors E-Series, demonstrating versatility across different platforms and car types. He also delivered a standout endurance performance by winning the iRacing Production Car Challenge endurance special event with Scorpio eSports, securing victory by more than a lap after four demanding hours of racing.

Beyond sim racing, Charlie has actively pursued real-world motorsport opportunities wherever possible. He has been involved with teams ranging from club-level championships such as UK Legends to the top tier of British motorsport in the BTCC paddock, gaining valuable exposure to professional racing environments. His karting background includes competing in the British Indoor Karting Championship (BIKC), where he reached the national finals every year he entered, qualifying among the top 24 drivers out of more than 5,500 nationwide competitors.

Toward the end of 2025, Charlie completed multiple test days in a BMW 116 Trophy car across various UK circuits in both wet and dry conditions. While budget constraints remain a challenge at club level, he is targeting a drive in the series for the 2026 season.

Charlie’s long-term ambitions extend beyond the cockpit as well. He aims to build a full-time career in GT racing, but is equally open to working within motorsport as a race engineer or aerodynamicist. He is currently studying Aeronautical Engineering at Stansted Airport College, with plans to progress to university, reinforcing his technical understanding of vehicle performance.

On track, Charlie prides himself on versatility. He enjoys driving everything from Australian Supercars and Mazdas to Caterhams, GT cars, and Legends machinery, adapting his driving style quickly to suit any challenge. Circuits with character and variety appeal to him most, with Brands Hatch standing out thanks to its elevation changes, mixed corner profiles, and aggressive kerbs.

His favourite team is Scorpio eSports, and while he admires different drivers across multiple disciplines, including Max Verstappen, Shane van Gisbergen, and Tom Ingram, his focus remains firmly on carving out his own path in motorsport.
