Overview

Aaron Canese is an energetic esports commentator with a deep-rooted passion for sim racing and motorsport storytelling. His journey began in 2019, competing in various grassroots NASCAR sim racing leagues, where he naturally transitioned from driving into the commentary booth, discovering a talent for bringing races to life for viewers.

With experience across both Xbox and PlayStation platforms, Aaron has commentated a wide range of titles including Gran Turismo 7, Forza Motorsport, and the F1 series, as well as being selected to commentate a live GT7 events, a standout milestone in his broadcasting career. While he has been involved in esports for nearly seven years, the past three years have seen him establish himself firmly as a commentator with a growing reputation.

Aaron describes his commentary style as high-energy, accessible, and story-driven. His primary focus during live broadcasts is to explain the action clearly and engagingly, ensuring that even viewers new to motorsport can follow and enjoy what’s unfolding on track. Rather than relying solely on technical jargon, he aims to balance excitement with clarity, turning each race into a compelling narrative.

Although his commentary style isn’t directly shaped by a background in engineering or professional driving, Aaron draws inspiration from legendary broadcasters such as Murray Walker, Mike Joy, Allen Bestwick, and Leigh Diffey, whose ability to connect with audiences has strongly influenced his approach.

Oval racing is Aaron’s speciality and first love, particularly high-intensity pack racing at circuits like Daytona and Talladega, both as a driver and commentator. One of his most memorable moments behind the microphone includes calling a GT7 live event in Atlanta, alongside his work during the latest season of Scorpio Super Formula, which he considers a major highlight.

Away from the commentary desk, Aaron is also an accomplished sim racer, notably finishing third overall in the 2025 TORA Daytona 24 Hour endurance race with Team TNR. 

Fun fact: the first manual car Aaron ever drove was an old stock car at a driving experience event at Pocono Raceway - a fitting start for someone whose heart lies firmly in motorsport.
